What this site collects
Almost nothing, and this page says exactly which parts of that are true. Reviewed 12 October 2026.
The short version
Kippu Japan is a set of static pages and calculators. There is no account to create, no form to fill in and no newsletter to join, so there is nothing for us to store about you. We set no cookies and run no analytics script. The calculators run in your browser and send nothing anywhere.
Three other companies are involved in you reading this page, and the table below says which and why.
Who receives something, and what

Each name links to that company's own privacy policy. We have no control over what they do with what they receive, which is the honest limit of a page like this.
Affiliate links
Some links to rail passes and tours earn us a commission at no extra cost to you, and every one is marked where it appears. Clicking one hands you to Klook or GetYourGuide with a partner code attached; what happens after that is governed by their policies, not ours. It never changes a recommendation — the pass calculator tells most people to buy nothing at all. More on how the site earns money is on the about page.
Children
This site is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, of any age.
Questions
Does this site use cookies?
No. Kippu Japan sets no cookies of its own and uses no local storage for tracking. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you have not been asked.
Do you run analytics?
No analytics script runs on this site — no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no pixel. What we know about traffic comes from Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, which report on searches and clicks in aggregate and never identify anyone.
What happens to the dates and numbers I type into a calculator?
Nothing leaves your browser. Every calculator on this site is plain JavaScript that runs on your device: the travel dates you put into the rail pass calculator or the autumn leaves tool are never sent to us, because there is no server here to send them to.
Can I ask what you hold about me?
There is no account and no mailing list, so the answer is nothing: whatever exists is a line in a server log held by Cloudflare, which we do not read and cannot tie to a person. There is nothing here to export, correct or delete.
Changes to this page
If we ever add something that collects more than this — an analytics tool, a form, a comment box — this page changes first and carries the new date. The sources and updates page records when pages on this site were last gone over, and the credits page says whose photographs these are.
